Well – we made it! After 2 full days of flying–including 13 hours in NYC–we arrived in Italy!

Our first stop was to Lago d’Orta – a lovely village north of Milan in the Piedmont Region. Picturesque and lovely! In the distance are the snow topped alps! Just beautiful.

We arrived and immediately were whisked away to a “charming village called Alzo, there the ROHL Italian Collections are made. Known as the village of faucets, this quaint area was once an Italian center of bell making. Many of the techniques used in early bronze bell casting have influenced the crafting of today’s quality Italian faucets.

Finished spouts waiting for assembly

Rohl, one of the finest plumbing manufacturers in the world has its Italian Collection created through a 35+ year collaboration with Nicolazzi. The entire product is manufactured with materials all produced locally with one exception of the German ceramic components. Nicolazzi controls the entire process from the casting through finishing. All faucets, shower heads, spouts and valves are hand assembles and pressure tested prior to packaging.

A family owned business, Rohl was started by Ken Rohl, he changed the US Kitchen faucet industry by creating the first pull-out faucet. The company today is run by his son, Greg Rohl.
