Country Living in the City

When you love your location and neighbors, many times it is more financially beneficial to add on. For our client and their family, adding on to an existing small farm house in SW Portland was the best decision. We increased the size of the kitchen and added a family room.

The new open kitchen includes a baking center (with appliance garage, wall oven and microwave, pantry, and open spice rack), a message center and a built-in window seat with lighting for reading or just having a quiet conversation. The dining area is intimate for daily family dining – but large enough to expand for large gatherings.

The new family room includes built-ins for their glass art collection, games and media equipment. Our clients are tall (over 5’10”) so a custom sectional was designed with extra depth in the seat for comfort. Since this is also the media room – we installed blackout shades on the windows. The ottoman holds remotes and video game controllers to make it easier for keeping their home organized and neat.
