Formal Dining Room - Nope!

Many formal dining rooms go unused for most of the year, resulting is a loss of useable square footage in the home. This was the case with our client. The formal dining room was too narrow for comfort and the kitchen was too small for a family of six. Instead of increasing the size of the home which would have resulted in a more expensive remodel and higher property taxes, we opted to incorporate the unused space into the kitchen.

The “breakfast nook” became a quiet sitting area for reading, conversation and morning coffee. The new dining area expands for large family gatherings, and the kitchen now functions well for an active young family.

Cambria quartz was used on the counters for easy cleaning and low maintenance. The Brizo Talo faucet with “smart touch” technology is accessible for even the youngest household member. A warming drawer (the purchase of which was strongly encourage by their designer) – became the second most valued appliance in the kitchen (right behind the built-in coffee maker). The glazed finish on the cabinets are perfect for hiding unexpected bumps and bruises from toy impacts.
